EFT International (formerly AAMET) EFT Level 2

(Practitioner training stage 1)

Update: In order to focus my time on work with clients, I will no longer be offering training in EFT.

However, many other EFT International trainers are now offering their training courses live online, so if you go to eftinternational.org, and search there, you should be able to find online provision for whatever level of course you are interested in :)

The 'Overview' tab has general information on all levels of training.

The EFT Level 2 course I offer is the first stage in becoming an Accredited Certified EFT practitioner with EFT International (EFTi).  You may wish to attend the course simply to learn more - if you do wish to become a practitioner, you will need to complete further elements to be eligible.

The Weekend course

So, you have completed Level 1, either through my EFT Level 1 weekend (which, obviously, I would recommend) or with another EFT trainer.  You have received your certificate of attendance.  You have had at least a month to practice EFT, whether just on yourself, or on friends and family, and are getting the hang of it, but want to know more - welcome to EFT Level 2.

This second weekend introduces further techniques and practice, so that you can bring greater skill to your work with EFT. It covers the Level 2 material in the same practical manner as the Level 1 weekend. with exercises and demonstrations. There is also plenty of time for discussing your experiences and questions since completing Level 1.

EFT Level 2 course includes:

  • Review of Level 1, in particular the Movie Technique for working with past events.
  • The Gentle techniques of Sneaking Up, The Tearless Trauma Technique, and Chasing the Pain, for working with high intensity.
  • More Techniques and approaches for Physical problems.
  • Finding Core Issues - the causes of repeated patterns of behaviour.
  • Integrating and Testing results.
  • The Palace of Possibilities and working with limiting beliefs.
  • Delivering EFT by Telephone and/or Internet sessions.
  • EFT with children.
  • EFT with groups and Borrowing Benefits.

(NB: Whilst we are learning techniques to work with distressing memories, I would like to repeat that this is, as previously noted, training and not therapy.  If you wish to work on deep or difficult personal issues that do not feel manageable on your own, I recommend that you consider working with an experienced practitioner - whether myself, or one of the many other excellent practitioners working in the UK.)

On completion of level two you will have learned:

  • how to work with others individually, in groups and over the phone
  • how to apply EFT to more complex emotional and physical problems
  • how to work with the emotional basis of limiting beliefs that contribute to problems

Practitioner requirements

Once you have completed the Level 2 course and received your certificate of attendance, if you wish to become a certified accredited practitioner you will be required to complete the following, in any order you like:

A multiple-choice test.

The test is done online at the EFTi website, at your own convenience.  You need to be a student member (£15/yr) to take the test, and it costs £10, payable direct to EFT International.  You have three attempts to achieve the 80% pass mark, and all the information needed will be covered in your course manual.

A minimum of 50 sessions' practice (at least 45 mins per session), with a minimum of 20 different people.

The practice sessions can include the sessions submitted as case studies, and brief notes should be kept on the sessions not submitted as case studies.

A minimum of four case studies of working with EFT (two of them over two or more sessions), at least one of which should be submitted as a recording of the session.

Case study sessions should be a minimum of 1 hr long (slightly over is fine).  Once submitted, I will either approve the case studies, or I may ask for further case studies or ask some questions if further demonstration is required of your understanding of the techniques.  Don't worry, I'll make clear what I need, and get you through it!

6 Hours of Supervision, either group or one-to-one, or a combination of the two.

You do not need to undertake the supervision with myself, but it must be with someone accredited by EFT International to offer supervision.  Two free 1-1 web sessions are included included in your assessment fee.   I also offer monthly group supervision web sessions of 90 mins, at £15 per person (max 6 attendees).

A minimum of 4 personal sessions of EFT.

2-4 of these can be with fellow students, from your course or other courses. It is highly recommended and beneficial (but not a requirement) that 2 of these should be with an EFT practitioner or advanced practitioner.  If you wish to have personal sessions with me, you can do so at a reduced rate of £51/hr.  Brief notes should be kept on the sessions.

Details of Assessment Fee:

£450 (or £420 if paid in full within 1 month of attending the course)

The £450 can be paid in one or in multiple instalments, over the year after the course.  The cost reflects the large number of hours I put in to practitioner assessment - principally in thorough, helpful and detailed assessment of case studies.  If, however, you would rather not pay this, or are not able to, it may be possible to find someone through EFT International who is willing to do practitioner assessment for a lower fee.  Your certificate of qualification as a practitioner would then come from them.  If this is something you'd like to do, please check out that it's possible before coming on the course - I'd hate you to pay to attend this course and then find out you can't get a different assessor, if that's what you want.

Includes, for 1 year from date of course:

  • Assessment and in-depth feedback on 6 to 9 sessions of case studies.
  • Any feedback necessary on submissions of notes on personal sessions.
  • Any feedback necessary on submissions of notes on practice hours.
  • 2 x 1 hour online 1-1 supervision sessions with Roushan

Does not include:

  • Fee (£15/90mins) for group web supervision sessions.
  • Fee for joining EFTi as a student member (£25) & taking the practitioner exam (£15).
  • EFTi Practitioner membership fee (£45/yr) once qualified.

If you do not complete requirements within 1 year of attending the course, but still wish to complete practitioner assessment, you will be asked to attend the course again (there is currently no charge for repeating the course, but there is sometimes a waiting list), and there will be a supplementary fee for late submission of case study sessions (£18 per session as at Oct 2018).

Once you have completed the above requirements, I will send you a practitioner certificate.  You are then free to upgrade your membership from the student membership to practitioner membership (as at Jan 2019, £45 per year), and EFTi will send you an accreditation certificate.  You are not obliged to join EFTi, but cannot refer to yourself as an EFTi practitioner or receive an accreditation certificate if you do not.

EFTi can also guide you to professional insurance if you do not have arrangements elsewhere.  Insurance is not optional if you want to charge the public for your services.

If you choose to register with EFTi, you are required to adhere to a code of conduct and ethics.  There are also yearly requirements for registered practitioners in continuing professional development and supervision, which can be found, again, at the EFTi website, eftinternational.org. If you have questions about any of this, please contact myself or EFTi.

I am an Accredited Certified Master Trainer with EFTi, the lead body for EFT training and registration in the UK and Europe, and with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) in the UK.

There is also an Advanced Practitioner training course: EFT Level 3.
