About Roushan
I love training people in EFT! It is a wonderful experience to see someone move from (perhaps) not being sure about EFT to leaving a training interested and excited. I have been running certificated training since 2011, and short workshops for a few years before that, and it's great to be part of the EFT community and help spread the word.
Training is something I have been doing in some form or other for the last 24 years, since I was part of the team training volunteers for the 'Nightline' helpline service when I was at university. I knew that training was something I loved doing, but wanted to make sure I could do it really well, so in 2003 I took a year-long certificate in Training Practice, which has been extremely valuable in understanding how good training works. I'm committed to giving people a learning experience that is thorough, enjoyable and inclusive. I am always revising and updating my materials and my training to ensure that they are as useful, effective and current as they can be. In preparing to train people in EFT, I spent a long time observing a trainer, Gwyneth Moss, who provided excellent training, and learning from her what is important, and what works, in EFT training.
Aside from training, I see clients in private practice, and have previously worked regularly with two other client groups: staff at the Scottish Government and Survivors of Rape and Sexual Abuse at Edinburgh Women's Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre. I have also worked with patients in a rehabilitation ward at the Royal Edinburgh Psychiatric Hospital, clients at Muirhouse Community Renewal, people with HIV, older people's groups, cancer survivors, carers, and other groups in Edinburgh.
Before becoming a complementary therapist, should you be interested, I completed an English Literature degree and worked in various environments, from managing and teaching in an English Conversation school in Japan, to administrating the client services department of a stockbroker, to working in health promotion with the NHS Throughout this time, I pursued an interest in complementary therapies, and used them as a layperson with family and friends. It became clear to me after some time that I had a much greater affinity for my 'hobby' than I did for the various types of work I had done. I began my professional training with a diploma in massage in 2002, and went on to train in EFT, Bach Flower Remedies, and continued massage training. In 2014, I completed a 3-year training in Somatic Experiencing, a trauma therapy which helps people to renegotiate their nervous systems and return to the flow of life after traumatic experiences. I have since completed a 2-year programme with Diane Poole Heller in working somatically with attachment and developmental trauma.
